about

Christopher: Written in response to my father's journal about returning to his boyhood farm (land his family had worked for generations) for the first time, fifty years after having escaped from it at the end of World War II.
I made the nighttime field recording of the frogs and night hawk in Wilsonville, OR that we hear at the beginning of the tune. The frogs we hear at the end of the tune were recorded by my uncle, and are a unique specie in Eastern Europe, where my father was born.
