One evening, Dave came over to Christopher's painting studio to work on new material. Outside the bank of windows, snow began falling, illuminated against the dark sky by the street lamp. The lightly falling flakes were occasionally replaced by driving, huge wet flakes, almost a white-out (by morning we had over a foot of snow). As the two of us improvised, we watched the varied snow and thought it would be fun to represent that in a musical form. This resulted in "Sometimes It Snows."
